Creating a visual story for a heartfelt giveback program.
When Belly Rubs Pet Care approached Dox Design for branding help for their new giveback initiative, Cookies For A Cure, we couldn’t say no! This program takes a portion of sales from their dog treat bar and physical dog treat product and donates it to organizations dedicated to finding a cure for cancer. Dox Design started by creating a unique, bubbly logo that incorporated its two main aspects—dogs and cancer research—to communicate the ins and outs of the program.
We worked directly with Belly Rubs to create a look for Cookies For A Cure that didn’t stray too far from their current business branding while still giving it a fresh, differentiating look. We then translated the new branding and logo into packaging for their 12 dog treat flavors as well as in-store signage and social media templates.
What We Did:
Belly Rubs decided to extend product sales outside of their own store into the wholesale market, as well. Dox created professional packaging for their robust flavor offering. We designed custom labels for 12 of their different flavors using a different, bright, eye-catching color for each flavor—plus a fun little surprise on the back. 😉
Branding & Marketing Materials
First, we started with designing a bubbly logo that represented the mission, vision and values of the program. Using the cancer ribbon integrated with the bone signified the commitment to cancer research while maintaining the pet focus. Belly Rubs wanted the program to reflect the parent brand, so we worked with their brand colors (blue and yellow), with a unique spin. Using primarily blue and a new striped pattern, we carried a visual story across all marketing materials, translating the new look into social media templates, marketing handouts, store signage, and more.

I hired Kaila to help me with a project that has been on my heart for over a year . . . a give back program to raise money towards canine and human cancer research. I needed something that would blend well with my existing business but also be able to stand on its own in the future. From the very beginning Kaila and her team took great care in creating a brand that is both light and inviting and immediately identifiable to the cause (cancer is a scary word and we didn’t want people shying away from our products, so creating this feeling was important). I couldn’t have been more happy with the final results. The logo is perfect, the packaging for our cookies is fun and the social media images that the Dox Design Team put together are so cohesive to the brand messaging.
