Does good branding make your small business more money?
I love the promise and excitement that comes with the start of a new year! When done correctly, new year goals and resolutions can really help you take things to the next level… especially in your small business. It’s a chance to pause, assess what’s working and what is not, change things up, and restart with your best foot forward.
If you are just coming out of the post-holiday fog and tying up loose ends from 2022, that is totally okay. Maybe, you’re being extra diligent in deciding which direction to take your business in. Maybe, you’re waiting for inspiration to strike. Maybe, you’re in the process of making moves as you read this. Don’t sweat it, fur friend. I’m not one to judge. There are no rules or timelines for giving your business a little TLC.
What I am here to do is to offer a bit of advice… from one business owner to another. If you have the slightest doubt about your branding and how it’s affecting your marketing and sales, it may be a good idea to add a rebrand to your list of to-do’s in 2023.
Here’s a nugget of fun insider information from Dox Design, we’re in the process of rebranding! Creating a brand and rebranding are not reserved for new and struggling businesses. We’re the perfect example of a business who undergoes a rebrand, even when their current branding is working for them. Because sometimes, refocusing on your target market, their desires, what attracts them, refreshing your look, and getting intentional with your messaging are exactly what your business needs to propel forward.
After reading this post, you will have all of the tools you need to accomplish building a new brand in just 5 days!
Why is visual storytelling extremely important in the current marketplace?
As you are aware, there’s tons of competition out there. In this day and age of e-commerce and social media, it seems like there is nothing that hasn’t been done before and every business is fighting for a slice of the pie. But that doesn’t mean your ideal customers aren’t ready and waiting for your unique spin to capture their attention.
Visual storytelling through branding sets you apart from competitors and even provides you with a sense of identity in your business, so you don’t get lost in the chaos of trying to keep up with others. It empowers you to sell your product or service with messaging that speaks directly to your target consumer. As well as building brand awareness, trust, and customer loyalty.
New year, new brand
Here’s what you need to do in order to establish a new brand in 2023:
- Identify your ideal audience and learn what type of visual design catches their eye
- Decide upon your brand tone and how to apply it across all your current and future marketing platforms
- Develop a visual moodboard
- Create a logo and submark
- Establish your branding basics (patterns, illustrations, images, color palettes, and fonts)
- Detail brand guidelines to ensure a seamless storytelling experience
There are a handful of ways to go about rebranding your business. While I always recommend hiring a professional design team to entrepreneurs who have the resources to do so, I know that running a business looks different for everyone and investing in a multi-week branding project is not always the answer. That is why I developed a branding crash course, “Build Your Own Brand.”
BYOB is a 5-day course for the entrepreneur who is ready to take charge of their own brand and truly stand out against their competition! This self-led course is for you if you’re:
- Ready to launch or upgrade your visual brand as efficiently and affordably as possible
